Expected to be a major strength for the team heading into the 2014 season, the Toronto Blue Jays’ bullpen has been very unreliable out of the gate.

Toronto has already lost several winnable games because of late-inning meltdowns. The Blue Jays relievers have picked up six of the team’s 15 losses, which were attributed to them after they were called in with a lead and ended up losing the game.

That’s not the only concerning stat. In fact, it’s not pretty whichever way you look at it.

Pittsburgh Pirates manager Clint Hurdle is doing everything he can to bring his team out of its slump in 2014. 

The Pirates have started their season with a 10-18 record through their first 28 games.  The offensive production Pittsburgh is getting has been subpar, as their team batting average of just .225 through the first 28 games is ranked 27th in the major leagues.

The team wrapped up the month with a 15-11 record, and they're sitting in first place in the American League East.

However, April is just the first of a six-month journey through the regular season and isn't necessarily an accurate gauge of the season to come.
