FC Poll: Cano, Cabrera, Morneau Lead in Staggeringly Close AL MVP Race

Tomorrow, we turn our calendars to July. The start of the seventh Gregorian month isn't the precise midway point of the MLB season, but it's a symbolic transition, one that causes fans to say, "Wow, only three months left!"

Even if it's not precisely the halfway point, it's still a great time to start thinking about individual awards. Last week, Bleacher Report's Featured Columnists kicked off the celebration with Cy Young voting for both the AL and the NL.

And so, this week, we put on a mock MVP vote.

Phil Hughes, Joe Girardi and the Da-Boom Theory

Once again, the New York Yankees fell victim to their own rules.

Last night, the result ended with a Yankees loss of 7-4 to the Seattle Mariners. The Mariners have consistently held the last spot in the AL West this season.

Phil Hughes Gets Batted Around After Skipped Start

The "Phil Hughes Rules" have claimed their first start, which would have been last Friday. Those same rules have also claimed their first loss as the Yankees fell to the Mariners 7-4.

Yankees-Mariners Series Preview: Seattle Aims To Strong Arm New York

The Yankees closed out the Interleague slate with their best victory of the year, mounting a dramatic four-run comeback in the ninth against the Dodgers on Sunday, before winning the game on MVP candidate Robinson Cano's two-run homer in the 10th.

New York took two out of three from Los Angeles to finish 11-7 versus the National League. The first-place Bombers (47-28) now welcome in the last-place Mariners (31-44) for a three-game set this week at Yankee Stadium.

Sorry Joe Torre, You Deserved to Lose to the New York Yankees

Once again, the New York Yankees utilized inter-league play by crushing the NL teams, winning 10 of 15 games.

The stressful, yet successful trip out west was exhausting. The Yankees played with so much heart making sure to win both series against the Diamondbacks and the Dodgers.

The Yankee Years: Joe Torre's All-Time New York Yankees!

With the weekend series between the New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Dodgers coming to a close last night, the MLB and its fans are finally ready to move on with the post-Joe Torre Yankees.

While Torre may not be as loved and cherished by New Yorkers as he was once was, there is no denying that he brought the Yankees from a mediocre team to becoming the premiere franchise in all of professional sports.

This is what his starters would look like, if Torre selected individuals from his tenure with the Yankees and put them together on one team.

Cliff Lee vs. New York Yankees

Personally witnessing Cliff Lee manhandle the New York Yankees in two different uniforms, at both Yankee Stadiums, was far from fun.

All I can say is Cliff Lee is that good.

Can't Blame Jorge! Without Posada, A.J. Burnett Still Sucks

Can everyone please stop talking about a rift between Yankees catcher Jorge Posada  and starting pitcher A.J. Burnett?

The fact is, Burnett is just not a $82.5 million pitcher. He is too inconsistent.

I was never a fan of my favorite team acquiring Burnett before the 2009 season. He did however tame my doubts a bit last season.

Source: New York Yankees Coach Dave Eiland in Rehab

By Larry Barnes | Yankees 'n More  and The New York Yankees Daily-Press

New York Yankees pitching coach Dave Eiland has been gone from the team since the first week of June. Beyond saying that it's not a health issue, the organization refuses to say why.

Do You Remember 2007 When Joe Torre Was Our Hero?

It felt like a heat wave in New York City on that October 8 night back in 2007.

Fans were funneling into Yankee Stadium extra early for Game 4 of the ALDS .
