Is there a better fit out there for the Dodgers than Dan Uggla?

There is no reason to believe that the Marlins will not be shopping him around over the winter. He got into a well publicised argument with the teams star Hanley Ramirez during the regular season, so guess who is leaving town?

Let's face it. The San Francisco Giants have not had decent production from first base since JT Snow left the team after the 2005 season.

Mark Sweeney? Meh.

Shea Hillenbrand? Not one of Brian Sabean's finest Trade Deadline deals.

Lance Niekro? Let's just say Giants fans and management overestimated that guy because of his family history.

Ryan Klesko? (What? The Giants had Ryan Klesko? And they had him play first base? Apparently so ).

Let me startout by stating that I cannot stand the New York Yankees for the life of me, but there is one player that I will cheer for to have success. That player is Nick Swisher because he's everything a major league player should be.

Swisher will never be one of the higher paid baseball players, but he'll always be the one having the most fun. His personality and the way he treats fans is refreshing especially for an athlete.

This is the worst news I have heard in a long time as a Cubs fan.  Yes, worse then Aramis Ramirez out with an injury or when D-Lee got hurt a couple years ago.  Milton Bradley could be back as a Cub in 2010.

Why?

Former Texas Rangers hitting "guru," Rudy Jamarillo is going to be the new Cubs swing coach in 2010.  Apparently, he has a good standing relationship with Bradley, so this can't hurt right?

Wrong.  I could care less about Jamarillo's relationship with Bradley.

The 2009 New York Yankees came into the regular season with a lot of hope and promise. They splurged big time in their off-season by signing ace CC Sabathia, another ace in A.J. Burnett, and slugging first basemen Mark Teixeira.

This was beginning to look like the most talented lineup and pitching staff that the Yankees have ever put out on the field. And, indeed it has been.

Phil Hughes is showing his age, or lack thereof.

Some are saying that Joe Girardi acted alone in this assassination of the Yankees' World Series hopes on Thursday, the opinion being that the second-year manager made a series of dubious decisions that doomed New York.

When the Marlins let pitching coach Mark Wiley go along with first base/infield coach Andy Fox I wasn’t all that concerned (and if you’re concerned about either of them, they were offered positions elsewhere in the Marlins organization, so they'll be fine). While I liked Wiley, I felt the results of his work were mixed at best. As for Fox, well, his position isn’t even a huge concern in my view.
