Recently, I took Richard Justice of the Houston Chronicle up on his offer to "fix the Astros", and what came out of my research and conclusion was that the Astros could feasibly win in 2010 .

74 wins, 88 losses; a very disappointing year in the National League Central.

Last night, the Astros certainly did make coffee nervous. I can imagine Astros' wives won't need fingernail polish for the next few months since they chewed off all their fingernails.

Ken Rosenthal first reported yesterday that the Toronto Blue Jays will listen to offers about their stud ace, Roy Halladay, speculation started to fly around the sports world as if Brett Favre was considering a comeback.

ESPN picked it up and ran with it, Comcast Sportsnet ran with it as well. Just about every source for baseball did as well like they did last season with C.C. Sabathia.

You're probably thinking, "Roy Oswalt, I get, but PINK?!"

No, I'm not talking about the sometimes-blond, sometimes-pink-haired pop star, but rather the pink bats for Mother's Day.

Roy O got his first win of the season while the Astros' offense exploded, as Houston completed a three-game sweep of the San Diego Padres 12-5.

Twelve runs! Maybe Houston should use the pink bats full-time. Maybe they should change their team colors from black, brick-reddish-orange, and sand to pink.

The 2009 Houston Astros have the rest of the league just where they want them.

At 4-8 and in last place in the six-team NL Central, the Astros are well-prepared for their most epic second-half surge yet.

Armed with a stellar pitching rotation including future-Hall-of-Famers Brian Moehler and Russ Ortiz, Houston finally has the parts necessary to win the franchise's first-ever World Series championship.

Some people would say the Astros have the league's oldest roster.

I say the Astros have the league's most-experienced roster. 

I felt like I was serving a court ordered punishment watching this game today.

Instead of posting a pitching line for the Houston hurlers I'm just gonna post this:

Albert Pujols 2-4, 2 HR, 7 RBI.

I need to puke.

Oswalt's game was dealing.

Houston looked like they were going to be in good shop, with two runners on in each of the first 3 innings. However they couldn't drive any runs across and missed out on all three opportunities.

This is easily the best prediction for the NL Central I have encountered so far. Here is what he has for Houston and where each team will finish:

The Houston Astros made a splash in free agency this week signing catcher Ivan Rodriguez to a one-year deal. Now don’t expect that all of Houston’s problems are solved and they have everything they need to reach the promised land. The move does however improve any chances Houston had at a division title or the wild card far more than anyone realizes.
