MLB Will Explore DH During CBA Negotiations

Commissioner Rob Manfred reportedly said the idea is "gaining momentum," per Lennon. 

The New York Mets continued fortifying their bullpen Wednesday, agreeing to a two-year, $12 million deal with veteran reliever Antonio Bastardo.

The Los Angeles Dodgers announced they have signed veteran pitcher Joe Blanton to a one-year contract. According to Yahoo Sports' Jeff Passan, the one-year deal is worth $4 million. 

Free-agent outfielder Justin Upton signed with the Detroit Tigers on Monday.

Texas Rangers executive vice president of communications John Blake announced Monday the club re-signed starting pitcher Colby Lewis on a one-year contract.  

The 36-year-old veteran went 17-9 in 2015, but he had a 4.66 ERA. Blake specified Lewis' deal will mark his seventh season with the team.

Following his most successful season in the big leagues and a World Series title, the Kansas City Royals have rewarded outfielder Lorenzo Cain with a two-year contract extension to avoid arbitration. 

The Tampa Bay Rays locked in their 2015 team MVP by reportedly signing second baseman Logan Forsythe to a two-year contract extension.  

Ryne Sandberg is reportedly returning to the Chicago Cubs in 2016 to serve as a special ambassador, according to Bruce Levine of 670 The Score.   

The 56-year-old Sandberg played 15 seasons for the Cubs from 1982-97 and was voted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2005. 

The Miami Marlins and second baseman Dee Gordon agreed to a five-year, $50 million deal Wednesday, according to Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal. 

Gordon garnered his second All-Star Game appearance in his first year with the Marlins in 2015, leading MLB with 205 hits.

The San Francisco Giants traded right-handed pitcher Cody Hall to the Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday in exchange for cash considerations or a player to be named later, announced Arizona.
