Well, based on history, there isn't really any "right" way to get into the final field of eight.

All that matter is getting there, and it doesn't matter if your mode of transportation is via a Corvette, or Geo Metro.

Now that the Phillies (93-63) have made the playoff's it's important they finish first in the National League.

If the Atlanta Braves (87-69) win their remaining games, they can finish with no more than 93 wins.

Gallo was charged and convicted of the more serious second-degree murder charges rather than manslaughter because he has a previous DUI conviction and was known to understand the specific dangers of drinking and driving from his own experience.

If you can understand correlations, you can begin to understand something essential to success in baseball. Why? Because correlations show how one variable affects another variable.

For example, we can see how strikeouts influence runs scored, and we would find that there is no notable correlation (actually true). 

The dictionary describes a correlation as a "mutual relationship." This relationship can prove that two things affect or do not affect each other. 

Don't ask. It's a bad idea.

The only reason the suggestion even need be entertained is because it's already been put forward. People who over-analyze everything and think they know which of the final six games of the season will be most important are calling for the Giants to pull Barry Zito from the starting rotation and get Tim Lincecum two starts this week.
