Ryan Howard To Visit Team Doctor, Could Hit the DL

When it rains in Philadelphia these days, you can bet it's going to pour.

With the Phillies' No. 3 hitter, Chase Utley, already on the DL for who knows how long, the Phillies' No. 4 hitter, Ryan Howard, could be joining him very shortly after spraining his ankle Sunday against the Nationals.

New York Mets: Amateur psychiatrists are having a field day

I love when fans say that there's no life on a baseball team, no sense of urgency. That a team didn't come to play.

It's baseball. You either get hits or you don't. You either make outs or you don't.

It has nothing to do with fire, or urgency, or chemistry. It's all about production.

Braves Minor League Team Combines for No-Hitter

You know things are going well when both pitchers in a game get more hits than the other team combined.

On Monday, Atlanta Braves' highly touted pitching prospect, Julio Teheran, combined with reliever Tyrelle Harris to no-hit Mobile in a 2-0 victory .

Teheran and Harris combined to go 2-for-3 at the plate, and worked around two errors and four walks to shut down Mobile.

Colorado Rockies Media: The Case Against Mark Kiszla (Part 2)

Mark Kiszla is at it again.

The Denver Post columnist continues to show why the print media industry is failing. They employ too many columnists who follow a team only long enough to put the franchise's head in a guillotine.

They rile up the passive fans and it sells a few more newspapers, but credibility is lost with fans who pay attention on a daily basis.

Kiszla routinely pulls out a "the Rockies owners are greedy" article and puts a different spin on it. His latest version features a twist, a dagger in the back of his very readers.

Boston Red Sox: Who Is Ryan Kalish?

As of the 2010 MLB trading deadline: Jeremy Hermida out, Ryan Kalish in.

Ryan Kalish is one of Boston's top prospects and he's getting a chance to show what he's capable of.

After tonight's loss against the lowly Cleveland Indians, Kalish played well again and went 3-3 and made some great throws from the outfield to prevent runners from scoring.

So far in Kalish's short Major League career, he is 5-10 with two RBI and one run scored. A lot more productive than Jeremy Hermida.

MLB Trade Deadline: Top Five Trades the Angels Missed Out On

Like a kid finding socks beneath the brightly colored wrapping paper on Christmas morning, Angels fans once again felt short-changed on Saturday after baseball's trade deadline passed.

Since 2005, it seems Los Angeles has been in the market for another big bat to bolster their lineup.

Not Their Brothers' Keepers

The younger brother of San Francisco Giants outfielder Nate Schierholtz was arrested today for a drunken driving rampage in their hometown of Danville, California.

23 year old Cainan Schierholtz was driving a big red pick-up truck when he first struck a bicyclist, then hit a pedestrian standing a in a bicycle lane, then hit not one, but two parked cars and finally came to a halt only when he struck a light pole and two other pick-up truck drivers boxed him in so he couldn’t get away.

Jeremy Hellickson Leaves Lasting Memory for Tampa Bay Rays

The Rays talked about Jeremy Hellickson going back to spring training. They felt he was untouchable when it came to acquiring a hitter.

On Monday night, Hellickson made his Major League debut against the Twins. It was a spot start appearance, and nothing more. He was going to be in the minors after the game was over, and that proved to be the case.

The Best Trade in the History of Each MLB Team

With one of the most exciting times of the baseball season, the trading deadline, behind us, the contenders should begin to take shape within the next month as we move closer to October baseball.

With so much talk of trades the past several weeks, I decided to look back and name what I feel is the best trade, be it deadline, off-season, or otherwise, in the history of each MLB team.

Some decisions were certainly easier than others, with moves like the Lou Brock and Jeff Bagwell trades a no-brainer. However, for other team's it was much harder to settle on a best trade.
