Blah, Blah, Blah: Stephen Strasburg Quite Possibly Second Coming

We get it.

Stephen Strasburg is the greatest thing since sliced bread.  There's even a rumor that Tim Tebow wears Strasburg pajamas.  Usain Bolt could actually run the 100 meters faster if he wasn't afraid that he would get close to the fastest thing alive moniker, and everyone knows that's reserved for Strasburg's fastball.

We get it.  Now can all you sportswriters and analysts quit it.

Look at the reports after Strasburg's loss Monday against the Atlanta Braves:

Florida Marlins Take It To R.A. Dickey In Route Of New York Mets

SAN JUAN, PR-- For the first time as a Met this season, R.A. Dickey couldn't get the job done with his knuckler, getting hit around and only lasting five innings. The humidity didn't help Dickey out, and the Marlins pounced on him early and often, getting the pitcher for five runs on five hits.

The Mets got a leadoff single from Jose Reyes in the first, but couldn't produce a "Reyes run" as he was picked off by Marlins catcher Ronny Paulino.

MLB Realignment: A.L. East, Meet A.L. North

The topic of Major League Baseball realignment is in the headlines again.

Published today, on MLB.com, was an article by John Schlegel who says realignment talk now revolves around the games' big rivalries.

Schlegel states:

Kerry Wood puts himself in the trade spotlight with back-to-back saves

Entering Sunday Night's save opportunity, Kerry Wood's ERA was a less than modest 7.98.  He was 1-3 with five saves in eight chances.  His ticket out of here, originally thought to be through a trade, was likely heading towards an end of the year release after the Indians refused to trigger the club option on his contract.

NL East: The Five Reasons Why it Is the Best Division in Baseball

Earlier, I was posed with the question: What is the toughest, most entertaining division in baseball?

After shortly processing it, I came out with the answer—the NL East.

There are many interesting and intense divisions out there, especially the AL east, but for many reasons, the NL East is superior.

So here it goes—the top five reasons why the NL East is the best in Major League Baseball.

Manager Bruce Bochy Is Continually Handcuffing the Giants

At this point, there should be no need for Giants fans to debate over whether or not Bruce Bochy is a quality big league manager.

Simply said, he isn't one.

Why? Because quality managers put the eight most useful position players on the field day in and day out and place them in the ideal spots in the lineup.

But San Francisco Giants manager Bruce Bochy has done neither in every single game of the season since his bosses acquired Pat Burrell off the free agent wire back in late May.

If Bobby Valentine Won't Manage the Florida Marlins, Who Will?

The Marlins' recent decision to fire Fredi Gonzalez has not worked out so far. They were just swept by the Padres, and on top of that, Bobby Valentine, their primary managerial target, will probably not join the squad because of philosophical differences.

What does this mean to Marlins fans?

It means the Marlins will probably not land a top-notch manager for the rest of the season. Let's discuss two in-house candidates, including the current interim manager.

Fantasy Baseball Scouting Report: Kris Medlen

While the Braves have yet to decide who will be removed from the rotation to make room for Jair Jurrjens, Kris Medlen shouldn’t be on the chopping block given the way he’s produced.  All you have to do is look at his numbers over his first 22 appearances (nine starts) for proof:

5 Wins
74.1 Innings
3.15 ERA
1.13 WHIP
54 Strikeouts (6.5 K/9)
13 Walks (1.6 BB/9)
.288 BABIP

As a starting pitcher, he’s gone 4-0 with a 3.40 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, and a 6.0 K/9.  The real question is, can he maintain this success?

Carlos Zambrano On Paid Restricted List Through The All-Star Break

Chicago Cubs general manager Jim Hendry announced on Monday that pitcher Carlos Zambrano was placed on MLB's restricted list, and will not rejoin the team until the All-Star break is over.

According to Hendry, the negotiations were very amicable, with both Zambrano's agent Barry Praver and Hendry working with the player's union to come to a resolution without rancor.
