Yankees -Dodgers  is one of the most classic and enduring rivalries in all of American sports. These two clubs have had a unique relationship since the early 20th century when the Dodgers still played at Ebbets Field in Brooklyn.

Take a peek at the San Francisco Giants' active roster and you'll see a curious thing. You'll see Pablo Sandoval and Buster Posey checking in at a green 23 years of age—the Kung Fu Panda's birthday is coming up in August whereas Gerald Demp the Third just had his in March.

There's also newbie reliever Dan Runzler, who's recently turned a grizzled 25.

About a month ago, the Chicago White Sox looked as if they were going to be sellers at the trading deadline. Now, after a three game sweep of the Atlanta Braves, the White Sox now have a record of 37-34 and are only 2.5 games behind the first place Minnesota Twins in the AL Central. Once again, it looks like the White Sox will be buyers are the trade deadline.

Let’s see what is going on with the Pale Hose…

Jered Weaver gives his thoughts on his and the Angels season so far. Speaking with AM 830's Jeff Biggs, Jered talks about how the team has played since the loss of Kendry Morales. Weaver reflects on his start against the Cubs, pitching in Wrigley Field for the first time. The differences between facing a team for the first time or many times.  He also comments on the prospects of being an All-Star here in Anaheim, pitching in front of his family and facing his brother Jeff in the batters box.

So, instead of a bittersweet moment that would have, could have, had some legitimate intrigue and injected greater interest into a jaded fan base, we get a downtown core that looks like 1942 Berlin.

This is an issue that's been beat to death already, so I won't add to the cacophony of discontent in this piece.  In the end, it would only be white noise anyways.

However, much of their recent success is due to David Wright, who has been an RBI machine, leading the National League with 57.

Fans all over the country are on a campaign to get Wright into the 2010 All Star Game. Placido Polanco of the Phillies is currently the top vote-getter for NL third basemen, but it is possible that Wright could catch or surpass Polanco before voting concludes on July 1, 2010.

Brett Wallace: Toronto Blue Jays —Third Base

Triple-A: .298 (87-292), 13 HR, 41 RBI, 46 R, 0 SB

According to Josh Norris of the Trentonian , the Yankees have promoted their 2007 first-round draft pick RHP Andrew Brackman to Double-A Trenton and he will start tonight.

As you may have heard, tonight's interleague opener between the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers doubles as a reunion between Joe Torre and the franchise he once helped lead to four World Series titles.

Nearly to a man, the praise of Torre has been effusive, with the notable exception of Alex Rodriguez, who's been conspicuously tight-lipped on the topic. (Translation: He no-like the guy.)
