MLB Trade Rumors: Fausto Carmona from Indians to Mets, Angels, Diamondbacks?

Welcome to the Cleveland Indians Trading Post, a weekly segment meant to help my fellow Tribe fans sort out which of the few familiar faces left on the team won’t be around much longer.

This week’s potential trade bait is Fausto Carmona.

The basics

Stephen Strasburg: The Washington Nationals' Next Bob Gibson Or Mark Fidrych?

Is Stephen Strasburg a good pitcher? Absolutely.

Justin Verlander's First Inning Struggles

On Tuesday night I sat down and turned on the beginning of the New York Mets vs Detroit Tigers game.

I did have some vesting interest in the game since I have Ike Davis and Brennan Boesch on my fantasy team, but I also had interest in the game due to the fact that Justin Verlander was on the mound for the Tigers.

I have always enjoyed watching Verlander pitch, mainly because he is one of the few pitchers in baseball who can throw a 100 mph fastball and also snap off a knee-buckling curve ball.

Florida Marlins Fire Fredi Gonzalez...Bobby Valentine To Be His Replacement?

What an unbelievable day it was in sports yesterday! How about that soccer game!

When Landon Donovan scored that goal, I screamed, "YES!" in my office. I felt bad because one of the girls on my team was giving a demo of our product and I completely threw her off.

I am pretty sure that is not in the being a good manager manual.

We also saw a 10-hour tennis match yesterday. A 10-hour tennis match! I can’t even sleep for 10 hours, let alone play a highly competitive tennis match.

Stephen Strasburg, Ubaldo Jimenez Fail to Win

Stephen Strasburg lost his major league game in Washington last night despite striking out nine batters. He did allow nine hits to the Royals the best hitting team in the majors but only gave up one run.

The Nationals offense scored 14 runs for Strasburg in his first two starts but have scored one run total over his last two starts. He has not walked a batter in three of his starts. His strikeouts to walks ratio in those three games is 31-0.

Major League Baseball: The All-Heavyset Team

The beauty of baseball is that anyone can play.

The tall, the short, the skinny, and even the fat prove their worth at the major league level. It's why so many of us played Little League—no matter how unathletic we are, or how different our body type is compared to the ideal "athlete," baseball is a sport that can be conquered by the atypical.

Chad Durbin Likely Headed to Disabled List for Phillies

Chad Durbin left the Phillies' 7-6 victory over the Cleveland Indians in the ninth inning due to an apparent hamstring injury.

Fantasy Baseball Around the Majors, June 23: Strasburg, Jimenez, and More

Stephen Strasburg continued his unbelievable start to his career.  Ubaldo Jimenez struggled for the first time in 2010.  Kerry Wood and Aaron Heilman could be on the cusp of losing their roles as closers.  Let’s look at these stories and all the rest from yesterday’s games:

Jimmy Rollins Lifts Phillies Past Indians in Ninth Inning

Everyone, including Rollins, knew his ball was gone.

Jimmy Rollins had a slow start, coming off the DL Tuesday going 0-for-4 and not really contributing to the Phillies' 2-1 victory over the Cleveland Indians.

Wednesday, however, was a different story—kind of.

New York Yankees: Joe Girardi Makes Excellent Move with Mariano Rivera

It wasn't a classic to begin the evening, with lots of walks and terrible clutch hitting, but last night's New York Yankees-Arizona Diamondbacks matchup ended up being a really good baseball game.

It had everything in the latter innings: great defensive plays, big hits (although not enough), and some stellar clutch pitching by the greatest relief pitcher in baseball history, Mariano Rivera.
