This late in the season, it is rare to see bona fide stars sucking, but that’s what you get from Nate McLouth , Aramis Ramirez , Chone Figgins ,or Jake Peavy . All of these guys were drafted with expectations of big fantasy numbers, but all have floundered this season.

There is a great deal of consternation right now about the Washington Nationals and their offensive struggles.

Does anyone else hate when fans fill out their all-star ballots based on "star-power" rather than actual power?

I do, so I decided to compile a slideshow of what my 2010 all-star team would look like based on performance through May 30, 2010.

Writing up an entire roster would have taken too long, so this slideshow is only of my infield selections. Outfielders and pitchers will follow.

Obviously, any manager would prefer the quiet guy who just goes out there, does his job and leads by example, to the Milton Bradleys of the world.

But that doesn't mean that these guys can't shake it up a little and not be so bland all the time.

Part of being an athlete is being an entertainer. It'd be nice if these guys, in addition to their prowess on the diamond, could show a little emotion too.

It's time to make the move guys.

Don't be fooled by Scherzer, it looks like he is back but he will still be a little up and down.

Same with Porcello.

Encouraging signs, but I want to win now.

This team is ready to strike and let's hope Dombroski doesn't go down like Inge on a called third strike. Take your swings Dave.

R.A. Dickey seems to be a player that doesn’t get excited by much.  As a matter of fact, I don’t think I have seen him smile since he was brought up from Triple A.

Maybe it’s because I am so used to seeing players pound their chests and point to the sky for every success on the field.

This includes getting a hit, a walk, a sacrifice fly, a productive out, striking out a hitter, getting down a sacrifice bunt, and grabbing the regular flavor of sunflower seeds instead of the dreaded barbecue-flavored ones.

The Dodgers own the Rockies. Plain and simple. There is no other way around it.

Its been suggested by ESPN and the Detroit Free Press the Tigers might be possible suitors for Roy Oswalt. The question both sources state is whether the Tigers have enough young talent to pull off a deal.

Buster Olney suggests the market for veteran pitchers might be a buyers market, as there are quite a few pitchers expected to be on the block. 

Oswalt is a proven pitcher who is throwing very well this year. The Tigers could use another proven pitcher, and they might actually have some pieces to entice the Astros. 

At the start of the 2010 MLB season, the Toronto Blue Jays were not in high hopes of their many often disappointed, but loyal, Canadian fans.

The Jays lost their beloved ace, pitcher Roy "Doc" Halladay . Halladay went to the Philadelphia Phillies for a bigger paycheck and a greater opportunity for finally getting his well-deserved Major League Baseball's World Series Championship.

Halladay was the rock of the team.  Surely, the Jays would fall apart, and quickly at that, without him...or would they?

Everyone had forgotten about J.D. Martin until he took the mound for the Washington Nationals this past weekend. With Scott Olsen’s arm still sore, Martin was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse to fill in against the San Diego Padres.
