Forget the Yankees: Time To Retire a Tired Fenway Chant

The chant was clear even on television, so it must have been deafening if you were one of the lucky 37,000 or so in the stands. During the middle innings of Saturday’s showdown with the Kansas City Royals at Fenway Park, the now familiar wave of “Yankees Suck! Yankees Suck!” cascaded down from the bleachers.

And it was downright depressing.

The 10 Biggest MLB Draft Busts of the Last 25 Years

With the MLB Rule 4 First Year Player Draft coming on June 7, my content manager and I thought it would be wise to give you the ten biggest draft busts in the past 25 years.

There have been numerous first overall picks who have gone on to have stellar major league careers since 1985.

You may recall Alex Rodriguez, Ken Griffey Jr., Chipper Jones and most recently, Joe Mauer winning major league MVP awards. Also, they were all number one picks in the draft.

With the number one pick, you are looking for the closest to a lock you can get, but sometimes the players just don't pan out.

Baseball's Top Five Craziest Current Events

A typical response to why someone is not a baseball fan is that the game is too slow and boring.

If they only knew that baseball loves the drama.

Right now, it could not be more of a soap opera. Teams are soaring when they should be collapsing, and vice versa.

Here is my list (in dramatic order) of the top five craziest things currently going on in MLB:

2010 MLB Month In Review: May

25 Thoughts and Observations on May

1. To call this season "'68 redux" may be doing it a disservice. After all, only one perfect game was thrown that year; we saw two this past month. I suppose A-Rod can't question Dallas Braden's credentials any more. As for Halladay, nothing he does surprises me. Every time he takes the mound, we're truly witnessing greatness.

2. His first name could be Bob or Tom, and America would still know Ubaldo Jimenez's name after the month he just had. He started May with an ERA of 0.79, and ends it at 0.78.

Shots Heard 'Round the World: MLB's 10 Most Memorable Home Runs

The home run is one of the most exciting plays in sports. Fans and players feel a rush of excitement when a ball goes over the wall.

There are some big flies more exciting than others. Here are the 10 most memorable home runs in Major League Baseball history.

Should Robinson Cano Bat Clean-Up for the Yankees?

I realize that A-Rod is a great player and has hit a ton of home runs over his career. Rodriguez strikes fear into the hearts of opposing pitchers.

But he is in his mid 30's now, possibly the twilight of his prime, and he just hasn't had the same power stroke this year.

Should someone else bat fourth in the Yankee lineup? I say yes.

The question is, who can do a better job than A-Rod? Not Teixeira with his struggles right now. Possibly Swisher. But Nick seems inconsistent year in and year out.

Tex Mess: Mark Teixeira Headlines 2010 Fantasy Baseball Busts

As if the MLB season wasn’t long enough already, fantasy baseball mock drafts in late January/early February allow us to enjoy America’s pastime a little bit longer.

That is, unless your roster is filled with busts when you finally draft the team that matters.

The Yankees Offered to Trade Lou Gehrig to the Red Sox

The New York Yankees announced they had acquired Columbia University star baseball player Lou Gehrig on June 12, 1923, although the signing had occurred a little more than a month before.

Henry Louis Gehrig had the reputation of being the "Babe Ruth of the colleges" because he hit the ball farther than any other college player.

Gehrig made his Yankees' debut on June 15, 1923 as a ninth inning defensive replacement for first baseman Wally Pipp. It would not be the only time that Lou Gehrig replaced Wally Pipp.

What Do the New York Yankees Do With Joba Chamberlain?

Throughout Joba Chamberlain’s late season struggles last year many fans and pundits insisted that it was because the Yankees were messing with him too much and that he was not pitching ‘where he belonged’ in the bullpen.

Well, the Yankees haven’t been messing with him and he’s been in the bullpen, even further, he’s one of the few who have had a consistent role as the eighth inning guy.

Concerns On Chamberlain Are Legit

A visitor watched a game at Yankee Stadium this afternoon. It was his first visit to the new ballpark.

It was quite an experience to say the least. It will never be forgotten.

It started with Alex Rodriguez's line drive landing to David Huff's head. It was similar to couple of years ago when Nick Blackburn took a Bobby Abreu line drive off his face.

The blood dripped all over Huff's face. As a result of that, Huff was taken to the hospital. The Indians sent Aaron Laffey to take Huff's place.
