Todd Wellemeyer continued his Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde routine in Pittsburgh on Saturday, giving up six runs, nine hits, and three walks in three innings of work. Actually, work might be the wrong way to phrase it...it was more a vacation.

The contrast of his home and road numbers is mind-boggling at this point.

Dr. Jekyll: 3-1, 2.94 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, .213 BAA

Mr. Hyde: 0-4, 10.62 ERA, 2.21 WHIP, .305 BAA

Mr. Hyde put on quite a show in Pittsburgh, ostentatiously strutting out his schizophrenic demeanor and homeless-man composure.

So, we're officially one-third of the way through the minor league season.

It's time to review who's tearing it up among Orioles minor leaguers (non-prospects too!), and get to know the guys who are raking.

On the mound, Jake Arrieta is making himself a runaway candidate for O's pitcher of the year. He already has six wins, and leads the IL in batting average against. He's top five in strikeouts, innings pitched, and ERA.

At the plate, you'd have to delve way into the lower levels to find players having remarkable seasons.

When looking at the Mets this year, fans can see there is one thing they truly lack: charisma. Jerry Manuel is known for his laid back attitude and approach to the game. So far this has been terribly unsuccessful. He has a 152-157 record since taking over as Mets manager midway through the 2008 season. Mediocrity is not acceptable in New York.

Vin Scully showed again last night why he is regarded as the dean of baseball broadcasters still broadcasting today, and could very well be the best ever.

Major League Baseball plays a grueling 162-game schedule only to reward four teams from the American League and four teams from the National League with a chance at the World Series title.

Simply put, there is nothing like the playoffs in any of Major League Baseball, the National Basketball Association, the National Football League, and the National Hockey League.

It's difficult to make a list like this, because from the two spot on down to maybe six or seven, it's nearly impossible to put one guy over another.

Some pitchers had long careers and good primes, others had shorter careers but amazing primes. Pitchers are ranked on career totals, peak level performance, and length of prime.

Please note that this is a list of the top-10 pitchers in the history of Major League Baseball, and will not include Negro League players. Had I included Negro Leaguers, Satchel Paige would certainly have made my list.

It's the 20-year-old Los Angeles native, an outfielder currently in the Florida Marlins farm system. 

NEW YORK--Coming home, the Mets needed to put together a good home stand, in order to stay afloat with their road woes.

It didn't get off to a good start, as the Mets trailed the Marlins 3-0 early in this game, but R.A. Dickey settled down nicely to keep the Mets in it.

After retiring the first five batters of the game to face him, Dickey allowed a run in the second on a triple and RBI single by Cameron Maybin.
