MLB betting: Jays Try To Keep Up With Streaking Yankees

A Walk-Off Article with Two Outs in the Ninth: Why Clutch Hitting Doesn't Exist

Clutch: the word that is tattooed into every idiotic baseball fan's vocabulary, and into the ears of every intelligent baseball fan during an argument regarding a player's talent.

Why is it that we assign more value to performances in the seventh, eighth, or ninth innings as opposed to the previous six innings?

Why is it Joe Crede can strike out three times, leaving nine men on base, but if he hits a solo home run in the ninth inning to send the fans home, he is glorified for his performance?

Yankees-Blue Jays: Facing the Evil Empire

The last time the New York Yankees and the Toronto Blue Jays met, things were very different.

Revisiting the Ramirez-Beckett Deal Three Years Later

In the world we live in, we get a lot of choices to make. What do you prefer: Burger King or McDonald's? iPod’s or Zune’s? Xbox 360, Wii or PS3? Two percent or whole milk?

Ok, I’m kidding about the last one.

Blue Jays and All-Star Voting: Off Day Thoughts

Today the Blue Jays will enjoy a much-needed day off before they have to play four straight afternoon games at the Wind Tunnel, officially know as the new Yankee Stadium.

Which Orioles Pitcher Has Served Up the Most Eutaw Street Home Runs?

The bronze baseballs that adorn Camden Yards' Eutaw Street walkway provide four pieces of information—the batter, his team, the date, and the distance—but that's only half the story. Who were the pitchers?

Presumably, no organization would create a monument to shame pitchers, although if that option ever came in vogue I have some candidates in mind for the first statue—2007 bullpen, I'm looking in your general direction.

Mark It Down: Papelbon Makes Red Sox History

In just his fourth season as the Red Sox closer, Jonathan Papelbon has already made a place for himself in the Boston record book.

With his 20th save in 22 chances Wednesday, Papelbon became the club’s all-time saves leader as he notched No. 133.

Starting in 2006—when he recorded 35 saves (the third highest total ever for a rookie closer)—Papelbon has steam-rolled past his predecessors, continually moving up the team's all-time saves list.

Make Ricky Romero, a Canadian

Somebody get on the phone to the Governor General Michelle Jean and tell her to give Ricky Romero an honourary Canadian citizenship, because he did this fair nation proud today.

July Becomes a Test Month for Red Sox

On June 1, I wrote a post here on Batter-up with Bruno entitle, "Red Sox need to bloom in June," which was the day after Boston salvaged a win in a three-game series with the Toronto Blue Jays. They ended the month of May with a 15-14 record.
Well, guess what Red Sox Nation? I think they read my post or something.
With the exception of Tuesday night's bullpen meltdown, Boston absolutely bloomed in the month of June.

Toronto Blue Jays Minor League Report

This is my second Minor League report, and I hope it will keep you updated on all the latest that is going on with the very best Toronto Blue Jay prospects.

Las Vegas 51's (AAA)- (33-44, last in PCL Pacific South Division)

Things have not been going well for the 51's in their first year of being affiliated with the Toronto Blue Jays as they have the second worst winning percentage in the entire league. There have been only a few positives on this team so far.
