1,000,000 Strong For Armando Galarraga! Bud Selig...Reverse The Call!

In case you missed it tonight, an umpire completely missed the biggest regular season call in the history of the game.

I don't care if I'm exaggerating and don't know much about the history of blown calls, but this has to be high on the list.

Jim Joyce, respected umpire for 22 years, missed a call with two outs in the 9th inning that would have given Armando Galarraga of the Detroit Tigers a perfect game, the third this season.

New Stadiums In New York Disappoint

New York baseball teams opened up their new palaces last year. Citi Field and the new Yankee Stadium were the new sports buildings in town.

After watching games at both stadiums, let's just say both stadiums left a lot to be desired.

They had zero charm.

There was nothing interesting about either ballpark.

Unhittable: 2010 Starts a New Dead-Ball Era

It's the year of the pitcher.

The rookie pitcher—Stephen Strasburg, the perfect pitcher(s)—Roy Halladay, Dallas Braden, the breakout pitcher—Ubaldo Jiménez.

And recently, the robbed pitcher—Armando Galarraga.

Pick any of these fine talents, and you'll quickly find out that they have dominated the headlines of the first quarter of the Major League season.

Three's a Charm: Garret Anderson Walk-Off Leads Dodgers To Series Sweep

Before the series began on Monday against the Arizona Diamondbacks, no Dodger fan would have ever imagined the outcome.

Ticket holders at Dodger Stadium certainly got their money's worth: three walk-offs in three days, and a series sweep.

Game one took a walk-off balk to bring a victory to Los Angeles, while game two saw a flair for the dramatic with a Matt Kemp walk-off home run in the bottom of the tenth inning.

Going, Going, Gone: Ken Griffey Jr. Calls It a Career

Today marks the end of the career of one of most prolific hitters in the history of professional baseball as Ken Griffey, Jr. announced his retirement today after 22 years.

In an official statement, the 40 year-old Griffey stated:

A Galarragan Disaster: Jim Joyce Gives New Meaning To Perfection

An hour and forty-four minutes is the time it takes to go from beleaguered AAA pitcher, to a man who nearly flirted with perfection.

Let’s retract that.

An hour and forty-four minutes is the time it takes to go from beleaguered AAA pitcher, to a man who threw a perfect game.

And don’t let Jim Joyce try to tell you otherwise.

In fact, he won’t even tell you otherwise.

Galarraga's 28—Out Perfecto Shows Need for Instant Replay

Armando Galarraga has been robbed of the 21st perfect game in baseball history.

The Kid Says Goodbye: Ken Griffey, Jr. Retires

We didn’t want it to end this way. We wanted "Junior," "The Kid," "The Man Who Saved Baseball in Seattle."

We wanted one more laser-fast whip of the bat. We wanted one more smooth shot into the right field seats. We wanted one more ear-to-ear smile. We wanted one more moment to treasure.

We wanted the player of our youth, the stuff of legends.

We didn’t get it. What we got was Joe Namath as a Ram, Willie Mays as a Met, and Franco Harris as a Seahawk.

Five Reasons the Atlanta Braves Will Be in the Playoffs

The 2010 Atlanta Braves seem to be a very determined ball club that has turned the corner. This team has great chemistry with a great group of guys that will help push through the "dog days".

Whether they will admitt it our not, this team is also trying to get their future hall of fame manager Bobby Cox back to the postseason and to the world series one more time

Jim Joyce Ruins Armando Galarraga's Perfect Game

Armando Galarraga threw a perfect game this evening.

Unfortunately, the scoreboard will forever show the Cleveland Indians getting one hit.

Jim Joyce's missed call on the 27th out will most likely go down as the call that instituted instant replay into Baseball.

There have always been controversial calls throughout baseball's history.

However, that has been the beauty of America's game. Human error has always been a factor in the game.

Up until tonight, I loved the fact that baseball didn't use instant replay.
