Constructing the ALCS Roster

The cool thing about the postseason is that teams that advance to the next round can adjust their roster, for whatever reason—maybe someone gets hurt, maybe someone is better against one team than another.

With the ALDS over, the Yankees can now construct their ALCS roster.

This roster will largely remain the same—the differences come down to basically whether or not, against the Angels, you want an extra pinch runner or an extra arm out of the bullpen.

What's Up With That? Volume Five

The Los Angeles Angels were forced to watch helplessly as the Philadelphia Phillies rushed onto the field at the end of Game Seven to celebrate their second consecutive World Series championship, knowing the Phillies weren’t really the champions; they were.

Baseball's Stubbornness Is Going to Hurt Them in the Long Run

There's one thing in Major League Baseball that it tries to hang on to, and that is the human element of the game. This means there are going to be missed calls on the field, and fans just have to accept it.

The NBA, NHL, and NFL all have adapted with the technology and have approved the use of replay in certain situations. In fact, the NFL has the most plays that can be reviewed.

Feeling Minnesota...There's No Place Like 'Dome'

The Land of 10,000 Lakes, (really, it's closer to 15,000) has decided to declare it's top icon of all time—no, not Prince, Tiny Tim, Bob Dylan, or Jesse the "Mind" Ventura.

You might be thinking, "I know, it's Brett Favre!" Well, you're getting warmer, but no.

"A.L. post season expert, Orlando Cabrera?" Almost there.

"Wait, you're not talking about that crappy old Dome are you?"

Yeah. You got it. That crappy old Dome. After the last 48 hours, I think you can agree, with just cause.

For the last 28 years, Minnesota has called the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome it's Metro-home.

The Major League Baseball American League Divisional Series is upon as and it features two of the most successful teams in the league over the last few years. Colorado Rockies Drop Game One To Phillies 5-1

The Colorado Rockies opened their postseason in Philadelphia, the same place that they did in 2007. Both teams are essentially full of the same players. Except for one.

Ultimate 2009 MLB Postseason Projections

There is a saying with sports that at the moment, I can't remember exactly, but it ends with: “refs ruin them.”

“Them” being great games.

Twins Win, American League Playoffs Set: Who Is The Beast of the East?

With the playoffs finally being set as of 9:46 p.m. Eastern time, the American League playoff picture has finally been painted.

Beginning Oct. 7, four A.L. teams will begin a post-season that is sure to leave many fans holding their collective breaths.

Not only does every team have a loaded lineup full of players with high on-base percentages, but each has a pitching staff of uncertainties that they will be reliant upon to help them capture the American League pennant.

World Series Theme Song for '09: "Winter Wonderland"

A few years ago, I wrote an article regarding the length of the Major League Baseball season, and some ideas as to how to shorten it.

Watching players and fans alike dressed more for an outdoor hockey game rather than a baseball game, not just an ordinary game,  but a World Series game, one that could decide the world championship, just gave me chills up, and down, my spine.

This year's schedule makes me shiver even more.
