Fantasy Baseball Trade Deadline Fallout: Lance Berkman To The Yankees

Jon Heyman is reporting (via Twitter) Lance Berkman has been traded to the New York Yankees. According to Joel Sherman of the New York Post (via Twitter), the Yankees will send pitcher Mark Melancon and second baseman Jimmy Paredes to Houston.

New York Mets Poll: If Playoffs Start Tomorrow, What's The Rotation?

If the Mets somehow made the playoffs and they started tomorrow, what do you think the rotation should be?

My pick is Santana, RA Dickey, and Niese, with Pelfrey there if anyone gets in trouble.

While Big Pelf was lights out earlier in the season, if the playoffs started tomorrow, I have more confidence in Dickey and Niese.

Hopefully the Mets can stay in the race and Pelfrey can find that arm he left back there somewhere in May.

Various media sources are reporting the New York Yankees have acquired Lance Berkman from the Houston Astros to be their DH.

This is clearly in reaction to the Phillies acquiring Roy Oswalt, as they don't want to look as though they did nothing during the trade deadline, while the Phillies vastly upgraded their team.

The 40-year-old Edmonds is only under contract through this season at a very affordable $850,000 and is enjoying his best year since 2004 when the lefty posted a 1061 OPS for the St. Louis Cardinals.
