Many times after jumping out to a sizable lead, the Florida Marlins' bullpen gives fans a reason to be nervous; no matter how many innings the starter pitches.

The bullpen hasn't been properly address by Flordia's front office. 

Most good teams have a strong bullpen. In 2007 the Philadelphia Phillies won the World Series thanks to a stellar bullpen. They rarely let leads slip away.

The exact opposite is happening to Florida this season.

For most Americans, Canada is the wilderness to our north, a place of moose and mounties. But in more recent times, Canada has also been a hotbed of baseball talent, giving us a Hall of Famer pitcher in Ferguson Jenkins and some great sluggers, like Larry Walker.

Make no mistake, I admire Jim Leyland. He’s old school, colorful, a winner, and one of the best managers in the game today. I was ecstatic when Detroit signed him to manage the Tigers. He took them to the Promised Land in 2006 after years of embarrassment and 100-loss seasons. Yet I’m wondering if this might be Leyland’s last season in a Tigers uniform.

Word of the San Francisco Giants trading catcher Bengie Molina to the Texas Rangers spread quickly following the team’s loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday afternoon. By Thursday, the deal became official.

Molina, who was still with the Giants on Thursday, will hop a on plane to Texas and be formally introduced as a Ranger.

In return, the Giants get RHP Chris Ray and minor league RHP Michael Main. Ray fly will to Colorado to join San Francisco while Main will head to Double-A Richmond.
